Outasight - Losing My Mind {Prod. by 6th Sense}

Another must-download from Outasight and 6th Sense. Ou's losing his mind and is making a point of letting us know about it by including the lyrics on this joint (below). Video drops before the end of the month.

Breaker breaker one nine
Can you hear me
Over and out
Goin clearly
Clearly I’m losing
Losing My mind
Losing My mind

Watup to my audience
Been holdin on line
not foldin like accordians
We goin Back to the future
Like ridin in deloreans Not crown victorians
life starts,
And the story ends
Skies Gray like dorian
Till voices started joining em,
Now it aint in vein,
So let the award tour begin
And New york is here since I started goin in
Got the juice tampico
Puerto rican girls used to go and call me rico
this music shit to me
Is like lou reed to nico
I Feel like razar ramon
watup chico
Thowen toothpics
At the amateurs
the said characters
Who tried to get the picture
But couldn’t get the apperature
The shutter speed
Or the right light
Now you in the dark
Like a night light
Fuck being like mike
Be like Outasight
And grow a set
And here come the hook
Cause This shit aint over yet

Another bar gettin thrown out
Speakin man to man
I just wanna chill and zone out
If you don’t know jack
Homie dont pull ya phone out
And I can drop dimes
But I aint got much to loan out
Every weekend gettin blown out
15 years old with a north face and a blow out
19 selling 20s trying to pull the dough out
25 and signed now the light don’t go out.

Outasight aint outalight
But he’s sure out his mind
but he aint out of time,
Groovin
Chillin
Routing for the villain
Downtown dwelling
Boy his ego swelling
Like he got knocked in his head
Downing johnny walker red
Every one of our parents said
Stay in school
Some of us did
Some of us didn’t
Some of us cared
Some of us living
Some of us dead
Some of us broke
Some of us rich
None of us should Ever live in the fear
Of speaking clear
So grow a set
And here come the hook
Cause This shit aint over yet

6th Sense - Fall 2010 Recap and Megapost

6th put in a lot of work this year (what else is new?)... In case you were sleeping -- or hibernating, as was the issue with this blog -- here's a list of what you missed from his work with artists other than Daytona and Outasight (which you can find elsewhere on this site) and where to get it.

6th was the executive producer of John Public's debut album Re-Gifted - The Thrift Shop Experience and was responsible for bunch of the bangers that made their way onto the album. Preview the track "Freedom People" below then Download the album here.

Outasight - Never Say Never (Acoustic) Performance with Ray Ban

For Ray Ban Sunglasses’ Rare Print ad campaign, OU performs an acoustic version of his latest project’s title track. On the rooftop of Keap Hope in Brooklyn, we got 6th on a bucket, Iakov on guitar, and Miz Metro on sample vocals.

The Hip Hop Chronicle Interviews 6th Sense

This took place at Downtown Studios in NY. We'll let Sumit at HHC explain:

First let me say that airing this interview has been LONG overdue and for that I do apologise.
This is one interview I did enjoy. 6th Sense is one dope fucking producer who I respect. Im constantly amazed at how he can flip a sample and the sounds he uses. His beats always make me get “the Jay-Z screwface”. And it was an honour and a pleasure to sit down with him in the studio.
In the clip below I ask 6th to break down his approach to his production. His response is insightful and it makes me aware of his process. So now anytime I hear a beat he’s produced from ”On The Hill” to “Air Born” to any new joint, I’ll know how he got to that point.
And to end the clip, I ask him to recount the first time he met The Kid Daytona.

Part 2:

In the clip below I play a word-association game.
6th Sense was allowed one word to describe rappers like Emilio Rojas, Donny Goines, Outasight and The Kid Daytona.
I then take the game to describe producers like Pete Rock, Nottz, DJ Premier, Dr. Dre, RZA, Exile and J Dilla.

HipHopDX says 6th Sense is Next

Excerpt:
The emcee/producer talks about Kid Daytona's upcoming mixtape, and how riding around with Outasight listening to Oldies and Classic Rock led to the duo's hits.

Don’t let the title of “producer” fool you when it comes to 6th Sense. While work behind the boards has been his forte since the turn of the new millennium, this New York transplant has made his mark as an emcee, deejay and remix aficionado, all the while collaborating with Hip Hop’s elite and rising stars alike. Over the course of this tireless journey, 6th Sense has rightfully earned the respect and praise from his peers without taking a major label route.

DXnext got the opportunity to ask 6th Sense about his work with close collaborator and Warner Brothers/Asylum rapper Outasight, as well as his production for The Kid Daytona’s much-anticipated LRG-sponsored mixtape The Interlude, due out next month. 6th Sense also reveals that fans can expect an album from him come 2011. Just remember, it ain’t official unless “It’s a 6th Sense beat yo!!”

Outasight - Never Say Never (Album Download)

If you liked Further then you will love Outasight's newest endeavor, the 14 track Never Say Never. Featuring production from the likes of 6th Sense, Cook Classics, Sa-Ra and guests like Freddie Gibbs and XV, Never finds OU more vulnerable than in the past in terms of subject matter, but harder than ever with his delivery.

The combo soul singer/east coast MC style that helped Ou make a name for himself really comes into itself on this album, mostly because he sounds more comfortable in the transition than he has in the past. For those following Outasight for a while, you'll be reminded why you've been pulling for him all along, and all those who are just getting up on the Yonkers native for the first time will wonder why the rest of the world is living in the dark.

Stream the album below or click to "Download" to permanently destroy your speakers. Tracklist below...
